Start at the top! June was the first real working month to begin this undertaking. The warehouse area was divided into two floors and four rooms for the plumbing supply business that was previously in the old railroad station. We began by removing the shelving, the boards between the rafters and the broken windows on the second floor. The only time you could stand up straight was when you were between the rafters. Fortunately there was a trap door in the floor so we could toss the boards down to the bottom. We removed the nails from all the boards and salvaged what we could for future use. It was a great day when the windows were opened and we could get a cross breeze through. Unfortunately, the North and South dormer windows were behind a wall cutting off the West end of the building so they would have to wait. |
