This
station has been a part of several railroad lines down throughout the
years beginning as the Illinois, Bloomington, and Western Railroad (I.
B. & W.) which was completed in 1870. At that time it was known
as "The Old Plum Street Depot" according to the plat map of
that time.
It
was then a part of the Big Four Railroad, (The Cleveland, Cincinnati,
Chicago, and St. Louis Railway Company) and was known as the "Big
Four Depot" in the 1898 city plat map.
By
the time the railroads were finished with it in 1967, it was a part
of The Peoria & Eastern Railway Company, The Big Four (Cleveland,
Cincinnati, Chicago, and St. Louis Railway Company), & the New York
Central Railroad Company according to the quitclaim deed that was signed
over by S. H. Hellenbrand, the Vice President, of all three of those
lines.
